You may or may not have realized that there's an election coming up in May! That's very soon. And today is the last day to register to vote.

Luckily, thanks to a bill the Oregon legislature passed last session, you can register to vote online. You don't need to go to the elections office or mail anything through the old timey postal service or anything. Just click here and answer some questions. If you forget whether you're registered, you can use that same website to check your status.

The main item on the May ballot is the Portland Public Schools bond for improvements to school buildings. The bond is a big ask—it would cost the average homeowner $588 a year. We'll have our endorsement out in next week's paper, but for now, here's a pro-bond editorial and anti-bond editorial.
