Since we've got so much in common anyway, why shouldn't Portland have an answer to the Brooklyn Flea? Okay, yeah, back up. The first-ever Mississippi Flea is scheduled for July 23 (11 am-5 pm) in the lot next to Mississippi Records (N Mississippi & Shaver), and while the longstanding Brooklyn version is hundreds-strong, Portland's first iteration will be much, much smaller (but tightly curated—a good thing). It's being helmed by awesome Portland designer Lindsey Reif, who is looking for potential vendors, saying it's "intended to be a platform for local design, and not a rummage sale or swap meet." They're seeking local apparel designers, vintage sellers, jewelry and accessory designers, fine home goods (pottery, etc), and fine art. Email her for a vendor application, and follow their progress on the Mississippi Flea blog, which... um, doesn't have any posts yet. It's that new!
