The bridal fashion show at the Portland Design Collective next weekend features two Portland designers—business as usual, right? Except one of them, Elsie Bartling, is old enough to be my grandmother, and got her start in Portland back in the early 1970s. Now retired, PDC holds the remainder of her impressive collection, which foreshadowed the now-popular practice of reimagining new designs using vintage fabrics and styles. I just got a peek at it, and you can take a gander yourself over on MOD.
