Let's all wish a hearty HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the film Red Dawn which turns a robust 27-years-old today. Directed by the blood-thirsty, Commie-hating John Milius, Red Dawn is still the high water mark for movies about high schoolers drinking deer blood and murdering the Red Menace. PLUS! Wotta cast! Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Grey, Charlie Sheen, Lea Thompson, Harry Dean "AVENGE MEEEEEE!!!" Stanton and more! Buzzfeed has a good post entitled, "Ten Things You Didn't Know About Red Dawn" which includes this juicy factoid:

At the time, Red Dawn held the Guinness Book of World Records award for most acts of violence in a film. 134 per hour or approximately 2.23 per minute.

I did not know that! Another thing you might not have known? When you drink the blood of a deer, something changes inside of you. And you'll never be the same again. Hmmm... wonder why?

WOLVERIIIIINES! (Hey, I'm going down to Pioneer Square on my lunch break to kill some commies. Who's with me?)
