Olympia band Milk Music is part of a jam-packed five-band bill at East End tonight—which also includes Shannon and the Clams, Miss Alex White's band White Mystery, the Men, and Hurry Up—but you won't want to skip this group, who make melodic energetic rock with ripe, fuzzy guitars, in the vein of Dinosaur Jr, Hüsker Dü, or Japandroids for that matter. Take a listen to the title track from their six-song 12" record Beyond Living, recently repressed on the Perennial label. I don't know entirely what the song is about, but its central refrain sounds like a pouting kid being punished: "I went downnnnn to my roooooom!"
