Among the five trillion other major events going down today, Fashion's Night Out is upon us! Essentially a retail-centric precursor to Fashion Week, FNO is a global event—so don't blame 'em for being scheduled on top of other local festivals! The good news is that if you can sneak out early to get your event on, you can start partying FNO style at 4 today, with plenty of time to hit the TBA/MFNW shenanigans, too. Over 30 downtown shops are hosting parties and trunk shows (check out some of the highlights here) till late, and from 5-7 pm at Director Park you can see a fashion show of looks from downtown merchants repeating on the half hour, culminating at 8 pm with the local debut of Pendleton's highly anticipated Portland Collection (I'll be watching from "behind the curtain" as it were, helping out backstage with the production of this portion). Immediately following, Frances May will host the official after party. More info on what each shop will be up to can be found here (including a meet and greet with Gretchen Jones' most controversial Project Runway conquest Mondo Guerra moving in on her old turf. Oh no he didn't...)
