Picket Line is a new graphic novel from Portland author Breena Widerhoeft. It tells the story of Beatrice, a girl from the Midwest living in northern California who gets caught up in a local conflict between land developers and environmentalists. It is Widerhoeft's first book and it was self published with assistance from the Xeric Foundation.

Widerhoeft will be signing copies at tonight's free event. Bognor, Ozarks, Girls Doing Embroidery, RED! on RED!, and Hannah Glavor will perform. Doors at 7:30 p.m., show at 8:00. The Woods address is 6637 SE Milwaukie Ave.
