On Friday, Nov 18, Lulu's Vintage (916 West Burnside) will celebrate their first anniversary with a party including live jazz, prize drawings, and a 25% off sale, but the celebration is twofold. It's also an occasion to mark the release of Shop Vintage Portland's new maps of the city's vintage/retro/antique landscape, with lodging and cultural landmarks tailored to the vintage enthusiast (think the Ladd's Addition Hat Museum and old school restaurants like Dan & Louis Oyster Bar more so than OMSI and Voodoo Doughnuts). It's a handy tool for vintage tourists here to snap up Portland reasonably priced, tax-free secondhand goods, but it might also jog some memories of things in your neighborhood you've forgotten about in the face of constantly surfacing new, shiny things. You can download the N/NE, NW, SW, and SE guides here, or pick up hard copies at the participating businesses (like LuLu's).
