Within the fashion industry's schedule of design/wholesale/retail grinding, swimwear marches to its own beat. With people leaving for vacations after the holidays, the January resort season is one of the busiest times of the year for swimwear retailers like Portland's Popina. With their winter rush right around the corner, I went down to see some of what they've got cooking for 2012, from their own in-house, Oregon-made, retro-influenced brand and beyond.
