There's got to be hope for Democrats and Republicans and cats and dogs and the vampire movie fans from 2009 or so who bickered over which of the two pretty young male protagonists they liked best.

Because at last Saturday's Occupy Portland march against the police-state-like National Defense Authorization Act, guess who showed up IN SOLIDARITY with Occupy? Yeah, that would be one of the camera people from AntiOccupyPortland, the hidden-camera outfit that helped get phony lice rumors and exaggerated tales of free love and drugs smeared all across right-wing media.

Apparently, AntiOccupy has found something even more terrible than Occupy to rail against and now they might be friends.

Because I've been watching a lot of Deep Space 9 lately on Netflix, I keep thinking this is a lot like when the Federation, the Klingons, and the Romulans took up arms together against the Dominion. (And now I keep thinking, "Why did I just type that?")

Here's the rationale for the turnabout, in AntiOccupy's own words:

As you all know I don't agree with OccupyPdx on their views and actions, however tonight I did march with them in solidarity in protest of that bullshit National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that was signed into law by Obama this week. The protestors were very peaceful, and no one started any problems with the police, or other people. The Portland Police and OccupyPdx protestors were very awesome as well in keeping everyone safe on both sides. (No I didn't hit my head or nothing). It was a nice experience, Yes I really do mean this....

...This is the LAST video I will make on this youtube channel. I wanted to close on a good note, and I sincerely mean this when I say that tonight's NDAA protest was a nice experience. I might march again with OccupyPdx in the future depending on the subject of the march, but if it is anything like tonight then count me in.
