Stream the Decemberists' Live Album, and Black Prairie News
The Decemberists' live album
We All Raise Our Voices to the Air doesn't come out until Tuesday, March 13, but you can stream both discs of the double record on your computering machine right now. Disc One—the
Use Your Illusion I of this double live endeavor, if you will—is streaming over at
Rollingstone.com. Meanwhile, Disc Two—their
Use Your Illusion II, if you really want to be pedantic about it—is over at
Paste. Some of these songs were recorded locally, at last summer's two Edgefield shows.

In tangentially related Decemberists news, offshoot band
Black Prairie—which includes Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, and Nate Query—are prepping a 7-inch record for Record Store Day (April 21). The single's two tracks are culled from a forthcoming EP entitled
Singers, Vol. 1: Portland and include guest vocals from locals James Mercer and Sallie Ford. (The EP's other tracks feature Langhorne Slim, the Minus 5, Michael Hurley, Caleb Klauder, and Luz Elena Mendoza.) Black Prairie also has a full-length coming out in the fall, and they provided the score to Oregon Children's Theater's upcoming production of
The Storm in the Barn, which opens on April 28.
