So this is what Topher Grace has been doing after Take Me Home Tonight; he's been deep in his basement, bent over his laptop, joining the tens of hyper-obsessive nerds who have taken a whack at re-editing the Star Wars Prequels.

Previous attempts at fixing the Prequels' broken storytelling have included quick-fixes like running Jar-Jar's foreign-language dialog track backwards, but Mr. Grace, perhaps recognizing that the editorial equivalent of scotch tape and popsicle sticks isn't enough to rescue the Prequels, has elected to go a different route: He's taken a chainsaw to 2/3rds of the Prequels entirely, leaving an 85 minute film he calls Episode III.5: The Editor Strikes Back.

Of course, there's no way he's ever going to show this thing to any audience outside of his screening room, but lucky for us, Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm was in that screening room to recap what was changed, what was kept, and whether 85 minutes is enough time to properly essay the transformation of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader:

...you’ll find that Grace was able to do a lot by removing just a few central aspects of the prequels: the politics, the clone storyline, and the majority of Phantom Menace.
