Virgin Airlines is coming to Portland. As of June 5th, the low-rate airline will offer two trips to Los Angeles International Airport and one trip to San Francisco International Airport daily. Sure, it's not that exciting, but the company puffed up its announcement with some interesting bonuses.

Along with a promo video (see below), Virgin kicked off a contest to name one of the planes in their new PDX fleet.

This announcement comes on the heels of Alaska Airline's petition to add a nonstop flight from Portland International Airport to Washington, D.C.'s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, endorsed this morning by Mayor Sam Adams via Twitter.
