Two hot events vie for your attention this evening.
If you're in the inner southeast at 7pm, head to the Red and Black Cafe for Satanic Summer, an evening of bizarro poetry and fiction from touring poet Steve Roggenbuck whose blog features examples of his work, "famous author" Mykle Hansen possesser of a smooth and lugubrious voice, editor of Lazy Fascist press Cameron Pierce, and others. The event will also be broadcast on the internet. Red and Black Cafe is on the corner of SE 12th and Oak St.
On the northeast side, the reading series SLEEP will host an event at Xhurch at 7:30 p.m. Featured readers are Drew Swenhaugen from Poor Claudia and Bad Blood, Reed college poetry teacher Jae Choi, and local Whitman award winning poet Carl Adamshick.
