A few weeks ago, Erik posted about local comic book shop Floating World's list of 2012 bestsellers. Small press emporium Reading Frenzy recently released their own list, which is a none-to-surprising window into the reading habits of zine-buying Portlanders.

The top three:

Crap Hound #5-6 & #8
A Field Guide to the Aliens of Star Trek the Next Generation by Joshua Chapman (various issues)
Love is not Constantly Wondering if You're Making the Biggest Mistake of Your Life by Anonymous

(Starting to get the feeling that the sorta-anonymous author of Love Is Not Constantly Wondering and Field Guide to the Aliens can do no wrong... Exhibit C: He also co-created the zine Miami, You've Got Style, which documents every single outfit worn during the first season of Golden Girls. I think I most recently saw a copy at Bridge City Comics, if that sounds like something you need.)

The rest of the list is in no particular order, and includes David Cooper's charming bar guide In the Drink; Anthony Alvarado's DIY Magic, which also topped Floating World's list; and a whole bunch of books about bikes and pickling.

Reading Frenzy are still looking for a new space, by the way, though proprietress Chloe Eudaly tells me that they're "closing in on a North Portland location and have big and exciting plans to expand Reading Frenzy in multiple directions, but as of this hour it remains unconfirmed." They've also got some fundraising events on the table, including their 13th Annual Valentine's Invitational and a special Karaoke from Hell party.
