Fitting to its role as a fundraiser for the Children's Healing Art Project (CHAP), a group art show opening this Friday sent its participants into the imagined year of 2045 to solve our planetary problems for future generations. "Mad Science PDX" asked its artists (whose collective credentials include work with Wieden + Kennedy and Nike) to take on the role of scientist and cross over those techniques with how they typically approach art. The exhibit itself—opening this Friday at 7 pm at Gallery 135—is being billed as a "lab" of sorts, and between the roster of participants (Jason Rens, Jason Blackheart, Eric Trine) and the poster art advertising it, I'm hoping it will basically be the arty adult version of the Science Playground at OMSI for kids six and under.
