• THE WORLD'S END Greeting the apocalypse with a pint in hand.

As they've done in the past, Regal Entertainment is offering a marathon-style screening leading up to a new film—but unlike their excruciating, 700-hour-long endurance test of "Every Single Marvel Movie Ever Made Leading Up to a Midnight Screening of The Avengers," or their surprisingly unsuccessful Dead Man/Chocolat/The Lone Ranger event, this one seems like something reasonable people might actually want to attend and have a good time while doing so: Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost's complete Cornetto Trilogy, with 2004's Shaun of the Dead and 2007's Hot Fuzz followed by their latest, The World's End, which comes out in America on August 23. Basically: That sounds great, I'd do that, excellent idea, etc.

Via Pegg's twitter, the details are on Regal's site; locally, there'll be screenings in Portland and Tigard. Tickets are $20—which certainly isn't terrible for three movies, though if you're already planning on waiting to see The World's End until it's at a beer theater (which really does feel more appropriate), there might be cheaper ways to replicate the whole thing.
