Following news of Modern Kin's upcoming new album (if you're just joining us, Modern Kin is the new incarnation of Drew Grow and the Pastors' Wives), here comes some rather insane news about their release show.

Rather than hopping on stage, slinging some tunes, and calling it good, Modern Kin are attempting something far more ambitious, streaming seven live shows within a space of 24 hours around the globe, all to be transmitted from Mississippi Studios. They're calling it the "Hello World" tour, and perhaps it's a sign of things to come in the internet age.

I'll let their press release do the explaining, because frankly, it's a little baffling (and intriguing):

Modern Kin releases their self titled record via Amigo/Amiga on October 22nd. The album was produced by Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney/Wild Flag/Quasi.) Tracking was done in eight days in Sacramento, CA at the now defunct Hangar Studio with Bryce Gonzales (Here We Go Magic/Breeders) Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips/MGMT/Tame Impala) mixed two tracks.
