Friday night's Adam Arnold apparel presentation—the first (relatively) straightforward AA fashion show in nearly two and a half years—featured a dramatic, amazing audio collage designed by Arnold and DJ Beyonda (storm claps, bombs, smoke machines, and flickering lights) as well as some clothing that walked the line between elegantly understated and eccentric, not to mention the glow-in-the-dark face makeup designed by Galen Amussen. Curiously, it saw Arnold delving into loungewear (this time without sarcasm), with highlights including a white sweatshirt with crocodile texture and his 'n' hers slim heather gray sweatpants (the male version even goes so far as to feature a drawstring waist)—a relatively under-explored area for the typically formal-leaning designer. The collection also yielded a particularly skillfully assembled print dress with daredevil seam matching, an inviting looking, nubby sweater in marled black and white, a lightweight oversized houndstooth jacket with jovial, subtle color details (including the seam tape!) and a whip smart little gray bolero with vintage/futuristic colorblocked panels. Also spotted: extra-thick tank tops for men and an optical, structured pantsuit. Click over to MOD to see all the photos, by Jaycob Desrosiers.
