COMEDY—We're in the Cameron Esposito fan club. We even cut our hair in a super-hip mullet just like hers. (It looks better on her.) Esposito is a brilliant young stand-up, and if you don't know that already, you clearly haven't been reading the Mercury. Tonight she's recording a comedy album for the tastemakers at Kill Rock Stars. Also on the bill: her fiancée, the charming comedian Rhea Butcher. AH

MUSIC—You know Willy Vlautin from his other band, Richmond Fontaine—not to mention his excellent novels. Vlautin's new project is the Delines, with the Damnations' Amy Boone on mic duties. The Decemberists' Jenny Conlee-Drizos and Richmond Fontaine's Sean Oldham are also in the ranks; expect soul-dripped American ballads so raw, they'll make you flinch. NL
