This past Saturday I had what was one of the best Saturdays in the history of Saturdays. It started with a hangover—okay, stay with me now—and ended with meeting my friends so we could attend... drumroll please....THE SUPER CUTE HELLO KITTY FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL.

Pulling up to Memorial Coliseum my friends and I could barely contain our excitement. Everywhere we looked there were little girls with kitty whiskers drawn on their faces, decked out in every piece of HK garb they owned. We practically swooned from cuteness overload! By the time we got our tickets, we were running into the event, and trust me—it did not fall short of our enthusiastic expectations.

With song and dances performed by actors in HK costumes every 20 minutes or so, fake tattoo stations, a place to practice your Badtz-Maru drawings, and a photo-booth, we were very busy for about an hour. Naturally we each bought something from the merch counter as well; My friend Shaine got a Hello Kitty tour shirt (JEALOUS??), my friend Alfee bought a Hello Kitty tote (YES, YOU ARE JEALOUS), and I got myself a rad snap bracelet that you will not soon see me without.

Long story short this was a super cute, super fun way to spend a Saturday. Sure I saw a lot of Dads that probably would've rather been anywhere else in the universe, but hey! They were there, posing with Chococat, same as me—and being total troopers about it. Because what's cuter than taking your kid to see the sweetest SUPER CUTE kitty in town? Posting it on my Instagram in real time, my friends were clearly jealous (or maybe just confused?). Regardless, I know my friends and I will be back at this thing next time it's in town, because we couldn't stop saying to each other "BEST DAY EVER!" Maybe you should hop on board as well, because what else are you going to do? Sit at a bar and drink? Oh no, you're way too super cute for that.
