—The 2015 version of the OMSI-hosted Maker Faire is coming up right quick on Sept 12 & 13. Unlike most gatherings involving locally made goods, this is more about exposing the process and inspiring visitors to do their own making rather than commerce—there are way more robots than tea towels involved. Bring your kids if you've got 'em!

—Coming up even quicker is the summertime version of Fade to Light fashion show (Aug 26 at the Crystal). If you don't yet have tickets, there's an Instagram giveaway contest launching today via friend o' the Mercury street style site Portland's Pretty for two front-row tickets. Eyes here for the kickoff.

—Just a bit further out on the horizon is Coalesce, a one-day pop-up that promises "a radical shopping experience." Look for clothing, accessories, housewares, art and skincare from lines like Workshop Vintage, Rogue Minx, MOORE Custom Goods, Copper Union, This Is Folklore, Hovden Formal Farm Wear, Katie Guinn Designs, and Laurs Kemp. That'll be Saturday, Sept 19 at Tillamook Station.
