Every year when June rolls around, the Mercury issues its definitive list of Pedalpalooza rides you can't miss. And pretty much every year, we urge you to saddle up for the Bowie vs. Prince ride, where rabid partisans dress up like their favorite glittery iconoclast and ride/dance their asses off.

Well today, with news of David Bowie's untimely passing pelting everyone's Monday with boundless misery and fond remembrances, half of the ride is being dusted off a few months early. Portland bike advocate Lillian Karabaic, an organizer of the yearly ride, is calling all Bowie fans for a tribute ride/vigil this evening.

Like Bowie's titular Uncle Arthur, looks like you've got post-work plans for a ride—past the gasworks, past the river, down the high street, back to mother.
