Portland's One-Eyed Hash Oil King

Excellent piece. Thanks Alison and Jon.
2
Informative article, but you should have reminded your print edition readers that hash oil should never be licked off the thumb of a studly Russian, it's just too difficult to get the dosage right.
3
Uh, some people actually do break their ankle and end up with chronic ankle pain.
4
I'm sorry Randy. Not denying it can happen, just that I don't fall into that category.
5
Any particular reason why Willamette Week and Portland Mercury are both running Ganja Jon articles in the same week?
6
@ disastronaut

Nope.
7
They're both decent and informative articles, don't get me wrong. Just thought it was weird that neither PM nor WW has ever done a story on Ganja Jon before this week.

Please do not publish articles that glorify the worst possible way of creating hash ever. I understand the chemistry behind all of this and it is nasty. If you believe in Organic growing/producing or even sustainability, then this "hash oil" is the complete opposite.

Growers & producers of chemical based products make me sick. With a demand of organic foods and products, you'd think Oregon growers would be smart enough to offer the same options. Some of them do because it's the only way to grow and produce, others are in it for the money and to produce as much as they can without any concern for the health of the consumers and don't even care about "quality control"; Ganja Jon.

This is so gross and I am beyond disgusted by the Mercury for publishing this article. Please Please Please publish an article on Bubble Hash so the good people of Portland understand that there is a REAL way to create high quality hash that does not have the chemical basis as found in the horrible horrible hash oil. Or better yet, DO NOT DO STORIES ON SUBJECTS YOU HAVE NOT DONE ANY REAL RESEARCH ON.

Wait, this guy is only 27? Judging from these pics I had assumed he was at least in his 40's. Maybe it has something to do with the multiple kidney transplants?

Ganja Jon has some of the finest BHO I've ever smoked. And after 2,500 or so batches, I'd say he knows what he is doing. If you don't like petroleum products (butane, BHO), then don't buy them. And while you're at it, sell your car and destroy your non organic cell phone and computer.

2 kidney transplants, an eye removal, years of dialysis and a whole lot of stress will age a guy Dimitri :)

To the gentleman saying that bubble hash is superior to BHO...

Look at the VOC (volatile organic compound) tests that Jon and other people on his level have for their products. The tests do not lie. All you're left with is concentrated THC and other cannabinoids.... with less plant matter (which is harsh on your lungs) than bubble hash. Maybe you need to do a little more research before throwing around blanket accusations and inserting your "opinion" as fact.

Possession of less than an ounce of flowers is a violation. Possession of two ounces is a felony. Its not going from 0 to 60, its going from free life to prison. But we can end this madness soon. The Oregon Legislature will soon be considering a bill to legalze and regulate marijuana. This will allow best practices to emerge and a free people to make their own life choices. We all need to step up and tell the Legislature to do the right thing. If they won't then we will take it back to the ballot with an initiative.

Please wait...
