I've rescued two baby squirrels in the last month - but got them to the Vancouver, Washington Squirrel Refuge, and they lived! Jackie, the wildlife rehabilitator, is the squirrel saint - she has 15 baby squirrels right now. Her website has lots of tips - pretty much exactly what you learned in your online search. - http://squirrelrefuge.org/
