I work four hours a night on average and keep myself fed, sheltered, and drunk. Not complaining. However, despite all the "locals" desire to keep this city an insular, navel-gazing, circle jerk if it wasn't for great restaurants (and their employees) Portland would be a joke. When Portland comes up in national conversation the food and beverage scene is the first thing that comes up, every single time. Why do you think it's so great to live here? Believe me, it's not the 13th fun run you've done this year. Tip your servers, bartenders, and strippers.
