In the late 1980s I was driving home with my son when he - who even at 8-years old had an imaginative sense of humor - told me to hurry. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were on TV.

I thought he was kidding.

He wasn't. The TV show and the 1990 and 91 movies weren't that impressive. But I fell in love with the series' name, the marketing of the four turtles, their rat mentor and the beautiful April.

But here is the problem. They keep making these stupid movies and now my son is embarrassed I ever made him part of that cult. We both feel like idiots for contrbuting to this pollution.
