Odds are that the webmasters at the Tribune accepted some ads from an adspace re-seller who then hooked 'em up with sketchy flash ads.

I've wondered about that. PortlandTribune.com tends to run their own ads, though - I always have to add custom filters to AdBlock Plus to keep from going blind from their flashing shitass internal ads.

Do you get the same alert when you visit that page with a browser with AdBlock Plus enabled?

That this is why smartphones are "locked down". It's to prevent them from becoming mobile virus and malware cesspools.

This is actually just a ploy to get you to read your newspapers on newsprint.

Content-wise, this is a vast improvement.

The Newsprint copy might also have viruses since you sometimes find rotting food, poop, and needles in the boxes.
