Opening This Week

Faust. Us. (Version 2.0)
Stark Raving Theatre presents a remount of its popular modern update of Goethe's classic, with a remixed script and new music. The new version will not, however, feature the return of Darius Pierce in his beloved role as Faust, though Patrick Wohlmut is a more than suitable replacement. Coho Theatre , 2257 NW Raleigh, 232-7072, Opens Fri, runs Thurs-Sat 8 pm, Sun 7 pm, through Aug 6, $10-20

The Taming of the Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew
features a "cast ranging in age from four to 74," and while a production that includes both senior citizens and little kids who knows more about Pokeman than Shakespeare might appeal to the strip mall-studied, cooler-packing suburbanites who will storm this thing in a siege of lawn chairs and howling feral children--it will not, we can virtually guarantee, appeal to you. Terry Shrunk Federal Plaza , SW 3rd & Jefferson, Sat 3 pm, free

Angel Street
A company devoted to developing theater in the culture-starved Milwaukie/Gladstone area, New Century Players, presents this classic old play about the always fun topic of psychological torture. At one point, Angel Street was known as Gaslight, which is Katie Shimer's favorite 1944 film starring Ingrid Bergman. Rex Putnam High School Theater , 4950 SE Roethe Rd., Fri-Sat 7:30 pm, Sun 2 pm, through July 16, $7-10

Closing This Week

Othello
The always fun Portland Actors Ensemble presents Othello starring Paul Susi as Othello, and Jason Maniccia as Iago. Lovejoy Fountain Park , 4th & SW Lincoln, 467-6573, Fri-Sat 8 pm, FREE

The Rocky Horror Show
Before The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a cult film classic, it was a cult play classic by Richard O'Brien. Frankly, we're pretty tired of the whole Rocky Horror deal, but this thing has Wade McCollum as Frank-n-furter, so we'll stay positive. Triangle Productions , Theater! Theatre!, 3430 SE Belmont, 224-8499, Fri-Sat 8 pm, $30-35

Summer In Brodavia

Uberfox
Improv vets Marilyn Divine and Stephanie Wichmann present another installment of their "two-woman sketch comedy extravaganza." Brody Theater , 1904 NW 27th Ave, 224-0688, Fri 9 pm, $8
