On Wednesday, the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC), will present their State of the Arts report to City Council at 9:30 am. If you value the importance of public funding for all aspects of the arts in Portland, you should consider showing up in support. The outline of the presentation: "RACC will highlight how culture and creativity are enlivening our community, supporting economic development, enhancing classroom learning, sparking innovation in business, and creating more vibrant neighborhoods." Sounds like a no-brainer, but with funding tight across the entire universe forever and ever, you can't take anything for granted, and nothing is a safe bet. Helping to grease the squeaky wheels will be a performance from the PHAME Academy and a visual arts exhibition by Kelly Williams. Over 200 artists, supporters, and administrators are already expected to attend but I say mob it up.

Arguably the most important performance stage in town.
