Last week RACC held an open house for their fancy new LEED Gold building in the Pearl District (411 NW Park Ave), with around 300 people in attendance. They’ve got plans for growth, and part of this is via their call for the Portable Works Collection—they currently have 1021 pieces in the collection, which rotate throughout 36 different "publicly accessible spaces in County and City buildings." Their last purchase was in 2007.
They have $57,000 to blow this year, and they’re looking for some new artists. Maybe that’s you! Primarily they're interested in 2D work (3D only if it can hang on the wall), guidelines here. The deadline is sneaking up—next Friday, the 16th. So, if you are an aspiring artiste, act fast. Click the jump and see some samplin's from the collection.
