There is not an island of trash in the Pacific, this is a misconception of the actual problem of plastic pollution. Yes there are large swaths of plastic pollution that accumulate in the “gyres” of our worlds oceans and this is a major environmental catastrophe; but, to state it’s an island is inaccurate and likely misleading. I do support these actions and the author’s intent to raise awareness around this issue!
