Sniff!

What time?
2
If I know my coworkers, they'll be there by 5. I'll be there by 5:30.
3
Best of luck, Amy!

Congratulations on the new gig, Amy! While the city will definitely be taking a hit in losing your critical reportage, we will, on the other hand, be the beneficiaries of having your voice on the indie of municipal government. Break even, no?

In any case, we'll miss you, thanks for all your hard work, and enjoy all the hard work that's yet to come!

Wow. How does one even apply for a job with the city government that one is covering as a reporter without compromising ones journalistic principles? Have you covered a city initiative, bureaucrat or elected official less harshly because of your desire for a decent salary and potential pension? Why should we trust you if you say no?

Number Six has a VERY good point. But as some know, anyone connected to Sam Adams is tainted. There will be some bad stuff coming out about him and corruption over the next year, I can't wait!

Oh Amy dear,

Would you mind terribly posting your resume for us to see?

You might be higly qualified for this post, I am very interested in seeing your experience on the subject.

Actually Amy, you would do all of us citizens of this great city of PORTLAND a service by showing us your experience.

If for nothing else just to prove to us that SAM ADAMS is not the kind of politician that would stoop to political payoffs.

We need to know that Sam is really the class act he says he is and to know for sure that we, the citizens of Portland are getting the very best

SUSTAINABILITY coordinator in this great city of ours!

Oh Amy-

You do realize that you will be assuming a PUBLIC position, and as such you will be exposed to the PUBLIC, which means people such as,
well,

ME,

for example will be able to come right into your office and ask you questions.

Now sustainability is an issue I have been struggling with for quite a long time and it is quite likely that I will come to see you about it!

Al (your pal)

So Amy has no intention of providing the public with her resume.

In other words, Amy Ruiz really has no experience or direct education on the topic or she would gladly provide that for us.

Well, I guess having reported on stuff is better than nothing I suppose, and knowing his highness, SAM ADAMS, is good, you can call him up at will and talk about the sustainable issue of the day.

See when your a government employee, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ACCOUNTABLE, and we can see already how well MS Ruiz is adapting to the new environment.

Sam can appoint whoever he likes, not unlike George Bush, and then all of his appointees can do what they want, just like King George's appointees did.

Except this is the Portland version.

Left agenda maybe, but same playbook.

But SUSTAINABILITY is important, and I intend to expand my approach to SUSTAINABILITY.

See ya at City hall Amy,
the blog world will definitely miss you,
and that includes me!

I don't think Amy has any obligation to post her resume for any semi-anonymous douchenozzle who asks for it. I could be wrong.

Amy, you raised the bar for any journalist covering Portland, particularly North Portland, where your work on the Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard debacle was stellar. Hail and farewell.

The only semi-anonymous douchenozzle I see is someone called "guffman" .

I'm certainly not semi or fully anonymous so you must mean yourself.

Amy herself knows my name, address, and even phone number!

Of course if Amy had the killer resume she would have put it up with out being asked by anybody!

I stand corrected. I withdraw "semi-anonymous," although I stand by "douchenozzle."

Please wait...
