Good on 'em I say.
But then why can't they get a job with the metro recycling to pay rent? A sanitation company? ODOT? Any number of private cleaning agencies? Goodwill?

Dig a little deeper.

D, go TROLL somewhere else.
Not everyone is in YOUR position...

Who's trolling? I said good on em.

"My position" is that the spirit of most homeless posts here take a 'why-can't-the-city-pay-for-it' approach, but these look like enterprising folks.

And if you can work as an advocate - you have the skills to get a roof over your head. But there is a chronic segment of folks who want to shoot up and drink while refusing true help and have me feel sorry for them.

Answer the question.

Well, it's a SMALL start. How about they go clean up the camps along the Springwater, in Washington Park, how about Forest Park?

If they are cleaning up camps at the Eastbank, they can get a job and pay some rent.

Why don't we simply pay homeless people for every bag of trash they collect? Cleaner city. Homeless people get money. Everyone wins.

Because if the government, city, metro whatever, proposed that Waste Management and the other garbage companies would get their panties all in a knot. They have $$$ and lobbyists, homeless folks do not.

Please wait...
