I was at the Tanker for this game. It went as crazy in there as when they announced Barack Obama had won the Presidency. Strangers hugging, drinks being spilled, etc...

There was Obama-style madness at the Rose Garden too, and on the walk home cars were honking and cheering well into Southeast.

How awkward is the "kiss cam"? Not only the assumption that any man and woman sitting together must be a couple or on a date, but the fact that the camera only picked out straight couples. There were gay people there last night. I saw some. And way to cheapen the hell out of the genuine sadness folks felt about Duckworth's death—I hope the proceeds from the Duck gear they were pushing at least went somewhere worthwhile?

But otherwise? Awesome game.

All I know is, Jerome Kersey is a GREAT public speaker. Dude was smooth.

You probably never actually saw Duckworth in playoff games, where he really came alive. He did great work for the two best late-9=80s/early-90s Blazer teams, especially against San Antonio. When things moved into half-court sets in the playoffs he (and Cliff Robinson) shined while Kersey and Drexler struggled.

"His skills left something to be desired" doesn't really cover it -- you make it sound like he was an afterthought or a liability when he was actually a pretty damn good center with sweet shot.

The Rockets' logo looks very Buffy.

I was just logging on to say the exact same thing Courtney. In fact, I would say it's lawsuit worthy. Although I do take great geek pride in the fact that somewhere in the world of the NBA, there's a Buffy nerd that snuck that through.
