Someone should tell the girl that her Bible is totally irrelevant.
2
Wait what did they say in their argument?

WTG Mr. Ludt. As an avid JustOut reader, I'm also extremely disappointed with the publication's decision to join the hasty press railroading.
4
Why is the press trying to sway the public? Aren't they supposed to simply report the news? Talk about lack of ethics.
5
"...the press trying to sway the public": Who and where, exactly? I haven't seen any news coverage that seemed biased to me. Are you talking about editorials? Editors have been writing opinion pieces since shortly after Gutenberg.

Maybe you can be more specific.

Great. So there will be protests on "both" sides of this issue. Trouble is, the viewpoint of most Portlanders won't be represented .

That's because the majority of thinking, pro-gay people who think Sam has behaved despicably and should resign won't be represented. What, we're supposed to join hands with the bible-thumpers and wackjobs who will no doubt be out there? No thanks.

So in this corner: a handful of anti-abortion people bussed in from Roseburg holding "God Hates Fags" signs.

And in this corner: a bigger bunch of self-satisfied Portland libs, trying desperately to pretend that this issue is solely about homophobia and puritanism and has nothing to do with abuse of power or ethics.

After a false start of about 48 hours, we've happily settled into our comfortable binary world, with right-wing ideologues on one side and "right-thinking" libs on the other, and we all should fall in line.

Well I'm not falling into line. I'm not a homophobe or a prude, and Sam Adams is a disgrace and should resign.

"and Sam Adams is a disgrace and should resign."

WRONG, all politicians are guilty of what Sam is guilty of.

SAM should leave for one reason.

HE GOT CAUGHT!

When you get caught in American politics the game is over, you lose!

It also means your stupid if you get caught.

The last thing we need is a liar who's stupid.

Haha, I like comment #1. I was that girl, and the Bible I'm holding belonged to the man who I'm talking to - I was looking up the passage in Matthew that said "Judge not lest ye be judged."
9
it was actually the guy's bible that she was holding, she looked up something it in to counter his argument
10
Thank you euphonius, and Al M.
Exactly.
If you even want to get away with the accused crimes, and admitted lies, the key is - don't get caught.

I was misquoted here. I did not call and ask just out that my classified ads be removed from the publication.

I said I was waiting for a response from Just Out before I decided if I would pull my advertising.
