Vapor Room, yo. Remember that experts have determined the BART tunnel may lose its integrity in the event of a major earthquake, in which case you would probably drown inside a BART train. I can't think of a much worse way to die. Except maybe getting suffocated on an overcrowded 20 Stockton bus. That would be pretty bad.
@ROM I think the tunnel would just rupture and fill with water, and the trains aren't air tight. Any small buoyancy would probably be countered by weight. Even if they did float, they would just float to the top of the tunnel, which would then be filling with water. I'm really getting in depth about this, aren't I.
Oh, the span of the Bay Bridge east of Yerba Buena Island is also unsafe, as we've seen, which is why they're replacing it. So yeah. Stay out of the East Bay. It's dangerous.
At any rate, if the big one hits while a BART train is underwater, won't all the rider's oxygen cause it to float to the surface?

And the best place for that is Oakland.
