The consolidation proposal had cost estimates of $688 thousand for the move (a one-time cost) and $650 thousand per year in additional operating costs after the consolidation.
Were any cost estimates for the "co-location compromise" outlined yesterday? I can't imagine that it would be completely free of expense.
Tony, for clarification: "It is expected to cost $250,000"
No more specifics were given on the expected cost yesterday, but the ongoing cost of "backfilling" positions in the bureaus are gone from the new proposal, and the extra ongoing operating costs, I'm assuming, are vastly reduced.
