These numbers really shock me. And it sucks that Dems are more bigoted here. What's worse is that this doesn't even include people who blame the Jews "a little." What the hell, people?
Also, can you imagine being a telephone surveyor and having to basically ask people, "And just how much do you blame those Jew-bankers for the world's problems?" followed with, "Well, what if I told you that Bernie Madoff was one of 'em?" I would not have responded kindly.
But I'm not sure of the extent to which people should avoid mentioning that someone's Jewish. One particularly galling aspect of the Madoff case is that he abused the trust of members of his own community, including Elie Wiesel, trust that was often cultivated in synagogues. Should we really avoid a story detailing Madoff's terrible crime just to make sure no one finds out he's one of them Jew-people?
