PAC, once you finish your beer month, you're gonna have what? 30,000 words written on Oregon beer? I'm smelling book deal.
Other than that, have you seen the new beer selection at the Hawthorne Freddies? It's not shabby, especially their Hard Cider selection. It's not exactly, beer... but close enough. Try some of those.
I'm surprised they finally stepped up their selection. I always figured they just never bothered because of the proximity to 39th ave market and belmont station.
Patrick, your reviews are getting better each day. It's nice to see some excitement and new perspective in beer reviews. I've logged over 800 reviews on a beer geek website, and looking back over recent entries I think my vocabulary is shrinking to the point that they're all sounding the same. Maybe my palate's just tired, maybe I just need to step up my game. Thanks for the push.
Hops and cannabis are very closely related (I believe they are the same genus?), which can explain the similarity in smell and taste, the laws forbidding growing hops in some places, and the fact that most stoners are hopheads and vice versa. Both IPA and weed give you the munchies, both of them make music sound better, and both are socially acceptable in Portland and will get you the noose in Bible-land.
I've been finding these posts to be a lot of fun to read Patrick!
