What would be sweet would be a field of Oregon grass instead.

I'll be there.

The Coliseum should become a gateway to a pneumatic mag-lev tube train sloping underground in opposition to the surface arch to Gard du Nord in Paris - 5100 miles away.

Potentially, and I'll find some young Dr. Calculus to factor the math, with sufficient cabin pressure and air evacuation fans, the cars could surpass the speed of sound and arrive in Paris for croissant and chocolate milk in two hours.

Yes because a tour led by one of the leaders of the preservation campaign and the woman who is in charge of the facility (read: job retention) is going to be oh so fair and balanced and show all of the problems the building has.

I wonder if they are going to show the many toilets that don't work or the crumbling concrete of the bowl or perhaps they will show the HVAC system that is so broken down it costs Portlanders half a million a year to repair? Maybe they will show the source of that mysterious god awful smell I was subjected to in the 4 Winter Hawks games I attended this year (which is 4 more times than Brian Libby has been inside that building in the past 15 years).

Finnegan (aka Jeremy Wright, leader of the MLS2PDX political action committee), why are you even commenting on this? The PGE Park stadium funding is secure. Memorial Coliseum has nothing to do with soccer anymore. Do you just get your jollies off of being an obnoxious fucktard? Did you start drinking a little too early in the day? What an embarrassment you are to our soccer community.

Portland Lover a member of the PDX soccer community............LOL. The best I've heard all day, oh that's rich.

Ahh Portland Lover...the Portland Lover from Seattle...

As a neutral in these matters, it helps to read the comments in various blogs and articles, and try to determine where I actually stand vis-a-vis stadium placement, the fate of the Memorial Coliseum, etc.

Portland Lover's rational comment, which is in no way hysterical or inspired by personal animus, has helped me see that being an obnoxious fucktard is bad.

Because Portland Lover (or should I call you Bright) I am actually a resident of Portland, unlike you, and I care about what happens to a building owned by the City. I also happen to be a long time resident of inner North Portland as well so if my URD dollars are going to go to this building it should make sense. I have no idea what the best use of that building is but I think we should be considering all options and a PR tour of the thing by clearly biased individuals I think serves no purpose.

I wasn't aware that I can only comment on things pertaining to soccer. Now run back to Seattle you troll.

Finnegan, who are you to say I am not a resident of Portland. I was born, raised, and live in NE. You are a transplant, as is BlackedOut and most of the other Timbers Army attack dogs you have on a close leash. They went after Peter Apanel for daring to have his well-written and well-researched op-eds published in The Oregonian, finding his street address and posting pictures of his house to your message board. And now increasing attention is being paid to me, based on my reading of your message board. It seems to be in your natures to want to attack and hurt people rather than participate in the democratic process.

I don't believe you care about what happens to Memorial Coliseum except for how it affects the bottom line of your patrons the Paulson family. Drop it. There isn't going to be a baseball stadium there. You have strong-armed the city enough already.

I don't hide. I've had death threats sent my way and the most vile things possible written about me (some of them by you). I advocate with my name for the things I believe in. Who are you? Back it up because you seem awfully like a Seattle troll I know too well who writes almost identically. I don't believe for a minute you live in NE or you are a Portland native.

And Peter Apanel's piece was pretty much the opposite of well researched.

It's ripe when you come after us for "attack and hurt people rather that participate in the democratic process." When that is all you do. Constantly. You can't deal with the fact that we are organized and active and petition our elected officials and get involved and take time to learn about the issues. That blows your mind so you just freak out and start calling names. "strong-armed"? How have we "strong-armed"? Was it all the letters we wrote or the times we took off work to testify or was it the rally we organized on a Saturday and got 300 people to show up for? Yep, scary strong arming there.

There won't be a baseball stadium but that doesn't mean I don't have an interest as a citizen of Portland (and how do you know I am not an Oregon native?) and north Portland resident as to what happens there and I will be damned if some anonymous internet hooligan is going to shut me up.

Please wait...
