I'm sure y'all are expecting my post.
More taxes - are good for the government.
There are those of us that actually have to work and create the wealth the state takes by force and so generously spends without accountability.
"Socialism eventually runs out of other peoples' money"

D, what exactly is it that you're doing that makes you such an authority on taxes, government spending, accountability and all other sundry things you're constantly bitching about?

3
Working to pay taxes and trying to explain the laws of basic economics, which they apparently don't teach in most schools anymore.
Just trying to help, you know.
4
Where's the link to the report? I fail to see how healthcare and education programs are going to increase my net income.
5
tk - Uncle Sugar takes more of the income of people who work for it, and gives handouts to people who pay no taxes or don't work, thus increasing their income considerably.

6
D, you are a blustering idiot. A blowhard. A know-nothing simpleton. When asked to show facts, figures or anything that backs up your position you just say that you're educating by regurgitating the same failed arguments. Try again.
7
D: That isn't true. Our tax and benefit scheme is actually highly regressive. One of Regan's former budget advisers (who quit in disgust) wrote a book recently where he pointed out that our tax system would be much more fair if we just randomly drew names out of a hat and sent them random bills or checks.

Seems to me saying raising taxes improves the economy makes no sense.

Taxpayer money is spent on government services and employees. Those services and employees do not create any wealth. Only the private sector creates wealth. The pool of available money is finite.

If you add more employees that are paid by tax dollars a portion of their income goes into the economy of course, but it's a downward spiral. There is only so much money available to begin with.

You never asked for any actual figures or citations.
I don't post windbag diatribes with links and flowcharts, I put forth short reasoned arguments that make my detractors become emotionally unstable, unable to reasonably, or logically refute me and they resort to childishness.
10
@D: In your previous post you used the term "Uncle Sugar." Honestly, does that term sound more like part of a "short reasoned argument" or more of a "resort to childishness"?
11
D, you do not put forth reasoned arguments. You but forth shit. You know nothing and are unable to back up anything you say with anything other than, "WAAAH! Taxes make my butt hurt." Please provide something in the way of reason if you're going to claim that you're doing so.

Mr Collins, could you please explain how a private sector job - with a certain percentage creamed off for profits by someone who may or may not in this state / country - increases the net wealth of the state, while the same job in the public sector - with no money creamed off for profit, all of it remaining within the state - does not. That makes absolutely no sense.

Any job is a good job. Public sector ones keep the money local, private sector ones don't.

When people complain about taxes, they conveniently ignore the fact that the tax money is being spent employing people within our state.

Yes, taxes can be spent inefficiently, so it shouldn't be an open checkbook. But there's two reasons people oppose higher taxes:
A) ignorance
B) selfishness, because they'll have to pay more personally

D, which cateogry do you fall into?

Please wait...
