While I agree there are some healthy people that aren't the ideal body shape, I also know there are way too many people that are shaped like balloons and would have trouble walking a mile. (To put that into perspective, I can walk a mile and I shattered my foot 5 months ago and couldn't even put any weight on it for 3 months.) So while we certainly shouldn't use HWP itself as the basis for denying health care, if you don't follow your doctor's orders, it is almost impossible to actually get better on most problems includes obesity related ones. And since I do think we should only spend money on treatments that work, instead of having the system spend thousands of dollars on blood pressure medication, or diabetic supplies, or the like, they should just tell people to exercise and eat right and send them home.
