Did it occur to you that this might be one of your neighbors cats? Just show a picture around in a two block radious. Feral cats are not friendly.

Yes, it did occur to us. But we have few neighboring houses and none that we contacted were aware of the cat. Plus, we believe we saw this very kitten under our shed a few weeks back.

Take the kitty to the vet to check for a microchip. Without a microchip, and with anecdotal evidence that it's stray, you should be in the clear.

I think it's about 2-3 months old. It's very much a kitten, but pretty lanky.

On a blanket on the porch. Can't bring her inside since the other cat will attack her.

On one hand, that is a great looking cat, and I have been thinking about getting one. On the other hand, man, kittens. All biting my face in my sleep and chewing through headphone cords.

I don't think you people are really understanding the subtext of Ezra's post, because you don't know him very well. So let me spell it out for you: If you do not claim this kitten by 5 pm today, Ezra will strangle it. A microchip won't be of much help then, will it?
