Well done. Keep pressing the issues.

Why didn't the television news ask the DA why the grand ury was not informed of its power to compel testimony and subpoena Sgt. Reyna?
2
Wow Matt...you let some real media into your office for once?! I thought KATU was "scum." (your words, not mine.)
3
Yeah, Matt! Why are you reporting the news? You should stick your head in the sand and ignore everything you don't personally like.

Uh.

Because that's not totally irrational or anything...

Excellent work. I'm surprised the WWeek didn't steal the story without giving you credit first.

Would you guys please kill the non-registered comments already?

@Blackedout WW did actually run the Reyna angle in this morning's cover story. Although for some reason my copy must have been missing the seven magic words: "As first reported in the Portland Mercury."

I've emailed news editor Hank Stern telling him what those seven magic words are, so he'll have easier reference to them next time.

Matt, I think it's time for you to wake up to reality and admit that yes, KATU are scum.

It's kind of sad that we get much better news coverage from the Mercury than from the local TV news.

Good on them for reporting it at least though.

Personally I'll take all the partnering we can get on this reporting effort. The idea that all news outlets are in competition only holds true for me when that competition is in the public interest. I prefer to adopt a collegial approach where possible.

Please wait...
