Been boycotting the hell out of Columbia ever since they started supporting the Recall² campaign.

They're going to have an extremely hard time finding even half the signatures they need. Everyone all aboard the Fail Boat! w00t-w00t!
2
so in 60 days, they've gotten 10,000? and in half that time they need twice as many? given the people who've taken to the streets to see this accomplished, should be nooooooooooo problem.

tabarnhart -

Can't tell if that was sarcasm or not (I'm guessing it was) but don't you think they've hit the "brick wall", e.g. there's probably not another 20,000+ signatures to collect?
4
They are only trying to get 32,168 total? Seriously? Won't they need somewhere in the 40 thousand range to insure enough are valid?
5
Yeah, but do you remember when Quaid was locked in the chair in the memory implant facility so they could erase his memory and restore Hauser's? and then Richter socked him in the face out of spite? and then he broke the lock and spiked that doctor in the neck?!

Now THAT was a Total Recall!

This new one isn't even close to as exciting as that. There isn't even a "we're running out of air" subplot. This one's just about gathering signatures... signatures that normal boring folks like me and you write down with ball point pens. yawn.

I would guess a 15% overage is necessary to be safe, so about 37,000 total. More if they can get them. Some of those dive bars are going to have high failure rate. The $20K is about 1/2 what they need + someone capable of wrangling a minimum of 20 canvassers.

No one's given this recall more juice than the media, so the threat by funders seems only to politically weaken the mayor. The web site is amateur, the management seems intermittent. It's not a serious campaign.

So the better question is, how does a weakened mayor benefit Tim Boyle + Ron Tonkin and their business interests, et al?

IDK, guys, I totally saw a handpainted sign that said "Recall Adams" on Foster a couple of days ago, I think they're pretty serious. Like, garage sale serious.

Comment of the Week nomination: tk.

They did add a Sam Adams Recall Petition Locator seems like a step in the right direction to getting people to find a petition... though it is probably too late with only a month left.

No offense, Jason Renaud, but you may not be the city's premier expert when it comes to signature gathering needs.

The statewide average validity is in the mid- to upper 60s. I'm not going to do the math, but if that holds for this effort, that means they need at least 10,000 over the raw number, but probably more like 45,000 signatures to have any kind of real shot. So, they need 35,000 signatures in 30 days (more than 1,100 per day). Piece of cake.

Smirk, you can probably get the exact average validity rate from the SOS office, or even from the city auditor, and crunch the numbers to see how many sigs they REALLY need to gather each day.

Wow why the personal attacks on Jason? My goodness that will not get your silly Recall² effort anywhere.

Yea, it is that homophobe, right-wing, dumpster-diving, hoodie wearing, PSU student, epic failure looser JasyUn Wurste who is only fair game to attack here.
