As movie characters go, few could hold a candle to Frank Booth. I still think PBR is popular because of his infamous endorsement.

Someone who knows the tale better than I should tell of the time Dennis dated John Wayne's daughter. He's lucky to have lived as long as he did!

I liked his role in Speed.

He was great, absolutely. But why does everyone get so grandpa-y whenever these old heroes die? "Rest in peace?" Since when did Wm. Stephen Humphrey utter such tired, meaningless cliches? And "Mr. Hopper?" What? Is Blogtown suddenly the old gray lady, the NYT? Same thing happened when J.D. Salinger died. So what? Old men die. Pay attention while they are alive.

Walker Benson in Chattahoochee:

"Well they (some pills he gives Gary Oldman) ain't dancin', and they ain't gamblin', and they ain't drinkin', cussin', fightin', or fuckin' out of wedlock. They ain't even mentioned in the Bible, but they will get ya real close to Heaven."

Dennis Hopper knew his benzos. Or his psych hospitals. Or just his script. Maybe all three. Regardless, the man was brilliant, as was the movie.

this one is pretty good. Walken helps things along: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqccyUpnZwA

For me, his death scene in True Romance is outstanding.

Booth. Red Rock West was a pretty good movie, if I remember correctly.

But my favorite role of his was that of notable republican party doner, particularly of late. Makes me laugh when another 60's icon jumps philosophical ship on his/her smug, counter-culture ilk.

Further proof that generation is the most fraudulent and puke-worthy in our recent history.
