How many times can The Simpsons jump the shark before Rupert Murdoch pulls the plug on it? The Simpsons are as relevant today as Seinfeld and CD-Rs. As for Banksy, I'm now going to buy more things from China now in order to make sure those coolies keep sucking in heavy metals and dying prematurely
@ Reymont, it's too cartoonish to be truly subversive. And what do they care - they got to build up the banksy hype to draw more eyes to ads, and in exchange, they had to endure being abstractly, humourously insulted for less than :30.
I did enjoy it though, and yeah, I just watched it on this post, as I was busy pirating the MLB playoffs at the time, which was on Fox in Mexico, by the way. I'd say Fox has more to worry about from people like me than from :30 of Banksy.
Because I liked it, though I completely agree w/CC that the cartoonishness undermines its subversive potential. (The dolphin head made me laugh, but it kinda kills the social commentary.) And I tried to give the episode a go, as nostalgia makes me do every once in a while, but ... meh.
It seems like a missed marketing opportunity to not have leaked it earlier. I tweeted it at around 7 or so and got a ton of immediate feedback along the lines of, "It's Banksy, so I don't know if this is real or not..." If more people had known about it in advance, they might've tuned in to see if it actually aired.
