I was really confused at first because I thought this was about the Edgar / Johnny Winter family and their band. I couldn't figure out why the guys who brought us "Frankenstein" were playing so horribly.

Keep in mind that Steve Winter is a well-known and well-documented Internet kook who has his own cult with only his family as members. He's like David Koresh or Jim Jones without the charisma.
