Jesus is a benevolent individual.
Colbert appears to think, like liberal democrats, that the entity of government is too.
And like liberal democrats, they demand the government first take from people by force, then redistribute to the poor. Which is also fail.

I agree with D. Christians are giving people but choose to give of their own accord, rather than having that money taken away and doled out by some faceless bureaucracy. Colbert made a good point about the tax collector, but I don't think it was the one he intended. The tax collector paid back four times that which he had wrongfully taken.

Well, the Government should represent the collective will of the people. If the vast majority of the Nation is Christian- as a lotta of you fundies like to think it is. Shouldn't the Government (ie the People's collective will) provide safety nets to the least among us?
